Scott’s Story
For franchise owner Scott Seele, his relationship with Stuff Etc started long before he opened the Davenport location 7 years ago. Scott was a loyal Stuff Etc customer for 25 years before deciding to become an owner.
“I loved the shopping experience for years, and witnessed impressive growth, merchandising, and a great brand being built during that time.”
Scott opened Stuff Etc’s second franchise location
in Davenport a year after their first opened in Waterloo. Though he had no previous retail experience, Scott was optimistic about the success of his first business endeavor.
With the help of the Stuff Etc corporate franchise team, the Davenport Stuff Etc held its grand opening in October of 2011. Scott recalls the support he received from Stuff Etc throughout the entire process:
“Stuff Etc was extremely helpful in every aspect of becoming a franchise owner and opening the store. The folks over at corporate are great people to work with!”
With his Davenport location’s 7th anniversary fast approaching, Scott has this advice for anyone interested in becoming a Stuff Etc franchise owner: “I recommend you try to plan on working and managing the store yourself. Overseeing the day-to-day activities and build relationships with your employees.”
